Historical Artifacts: Neighbor I found this in a notepad buried among some old files.Christians say, "Love thy neighbor." I'd like to believe that, but what's the point? What's the point of saying "love thy neighbor" if you don't? What's the point of believing in "love thy neighbor" if thy neighbor doth not love thee? What's the point of "love thy neighbor" if you don't love every neighbor? Black, white, Hispanic, male, female, intersex, gay, straight, bi, transgender, transsexual, Christian, Catholic, Jewish, atheist, agnostic, Buddhist, Hindi, liberal, conservative, moderate, other. How can you say "love thy neighbor" when, like a good neighbor, State Farm won't care? As Mr. Rogers says, welcome to my neighborhood. Won't you be my neighbor? Won't you? | | Sunday, July 26th, 2009 | | 11:48 pm |

Parents protest student pledge forms on gays Parents protest student pledge forms on gaysI really shouldn't have read this, because now I'm pissed. The Yes On 8 people claim they don't want to hurt LGBT people or take away their rights, they just want to "protect traditional marriage," whatever that means. But like everything else they've said, it's a flat-out lie. That they would use kindergarteners SIGNING PLEDGES THAT THEY WOULDN'T USE GAY SLURS as an example of something that shouldn't be done in schools, and use it as "evidence" that Prop 8 needs to be passed---it really demonstrates that THEY DO WANT TO HURT US AND TAKE AWAY OUR RIGHTS. This incident isn't even remotely about marriage; it's about hate speech! They're basically saying that children should not be told that anti-gay speech is wrong! They're even more basically saying that anti-gay speech is OK! DO YOU SEE THE PURE, VILE HATRED HERE? There is no swear word offensive enough to tell these Prop 8 people what I think of them. There is no bomb powerful enough to destroy these Prop 8 people the way I want to destroy them. | | Tuesday, October 21st, 2008 | | 11:32 pm |
